Lockheed Martin Project Profile

Lockheed Martin, the world’s leading advanced technology company, transitions the world’s premier naval defense system from proprietary to Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) open architecture using GoAhead SelfReliant to ensure availability.

Application
Computing infrastructure for the Aegis Weapon System’s radar, display, Command and Control (C2) and weapon system

Challenge
A cornerstone project to modernize the U.S. Navy’s Aegis-equipped cruisers and destroyers, Lockheed Martin needed to transition from a custom-built proprietary system into one based on open architecture standards.

Solution
We partnered with Lockheed Martin on the design, development and integration to ensure reliability of the high-profile weapons and defense system, meeting stringent time requirements for testing, deployment and funding.

Results
The solution is on schedule to be deployed in the U.S. Navy and used in technology refresh projects with international navies. The transition to Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) open architecture enabled Lockheed Martin to optimize budget and focus resources on innovation.
